Learning Sabbath

An exegetical study of rest from Genesis to Revelation

Do you know you need rest, but aren't sure where to start? Do you feel weary deep in your bones?

The world offers us lots of versions of rest from self care to day trips to the spa to advice for saying "no" to new commitments. But what does Scripture say? What is rest, biblically? This 4-week study traces of the theme of rest from Genesis to Revelation in order to answer this question. This study helps you gain a biblical view of rest so that you can accept God's call to a balance of work and rest that gives Him glory and nourishes your daily life.

Study Rest from Genesis to Revelation

Trace the theme of rest from God's rest after creation in Genesis 2 to the rest he promises belong to his people in the new heavens and earth ... and everywhere in between.

Former Students

"This study really helped me rediscover the joy of resting in God's presence. I'm a workaholic by nature, and I thought this study would basically tell me to stop working. But instead, I learned how to enjoy my work and embrace rest ... at the same time!"

Tiffany C.

"I grew up in a legalistic church culture, so my understanding of Sabbath was all about law. But this study really changed my perspective! I now see how God invites us to rest as a way of mirroring his own character. Highly recommend!"

Ainsley

"This is a good, in-depth study that doesn't take much time each day. I really enjoyed going through it and actually just added it to my regular quiet time routine because it felt that approachable."

Cindy S.

Friends! You made it through our four-week study on sabbath, and I hope you are THRIVING in what you've learned!

Now that we've done the exegetical work, and you've applied it to your own life, I want to share with you how Austin and I have worked to incorporate this in our lives. For the first year of marriage, we really rode the struggle bus when it came to rest. We didn't know what it was, we didn't know how to do it, and we definitely didn't know how to do it together. Listen in as we share a little look into our lives together!
