When our joy is gone – sapped up, run dry, long gone – can it be restored? And if it can, how?

Joy can often feel elusive. Though most of us who have walked with God for a while can affirm that joy should be a part of our life of discipleship, many of us have known joy that wanes. It can feel like a fickle friend, and leaves us asking a question – can God restore our joy?

This was my very personal question, and it sent me into a deep-dive in search of biblical joy.

What I found in Scripture was a revised definition of joy, renewed hope for the restoration of joy, a biblical example of someone who walked with God and lost the joy of their calling, a biblical prayer for restored joy, and so much more. And I want to share it with you!

This 20-day study of joy for Advent includes:

Daily Scripture readings, questions for reflections, prayer points, and more
Hebrew and Greek guided word studies to help you get to know the biblical Text up-close and personal
A verse-by-verse look at a biblical prayer for joy: where it comes from, how we embrace it, and what it means to employ this prayer in our lives
Personal examples from my own life of how my joy has been sapped and how the Lord has used these very verses to restore it

What do I need?

Your Bible, a notebook, and a device for accessing your digital study (phone, computer, or tablet).

How long will I have access to the study?

For a minimum of 12 months, so no need to rush - go at your own pace.

How do I access the study each day?

When you enroll, you'll get an email with a link to set up an account (email and password), and you'll access each day of study there.

This study (unlike others) also includes a downloadable PDF, so you can print it and keep it next to your Bible for daily use!

Will I get frustrated each time I log in? Will it involve lots of scrolling to find my place?

No! I chose this platform specifically because it tracks your progress through the study, and moves you right along to the next day once you've marked the previous day of study as complete. It's super simple.

and you'll receive it in a mostly plain-text version that's easy to print from home. I recommend downloading and saving it as soon as you purchase so that you don’t lose it!
